IP Telephony Network Security

accessaphone™ is designed with both accessibility and security in mind. It was developed to work within your existing IP Network infrastructure without opening any new security holes. Because we believe that network security is a shared responsibility between us, and our clients, accessaphone's product team is dedicated to providing applications that are as secure and safe as your existing IP Telephony network. Additionally, several development decisions detailed below were made to ensure the privacy of each and every telephone end user who uses accessaphone. Continuing accessaphone updates will address new security issues should they arise, and customers are urged to remain current with product patches, updates and versions.

accessaphone Security Information Network Communication

accessaphone does not communicate with the IP phone system or the IP phone directly, rather it communicates with Windows® TAPI and TAPI actually communicates with a proprietary driver developed by the phone vendor known as TSP (or TAPI Service Provider). See the communication path flowchart for more information.

Security Features

  • accessaphone does NOT transmit call log information.
  • accessaphone does not record conversations because it is not a phone and does not pass voice packets.
  • accessaphone does not integrate with Microsoft® Outlook, rather it takes a snapshot of your contact database and allows the user to dial any contact from the accessaphone Address Book Form.
  • accessaphone comes with Privacy Mode enabled. This feature hinders accessaphone from speaking digits as they are entered during a connected call. This allows users to enter their account numbers, social security numbers and any other secure numbers without worry of someone overhearing it being repeated by accessaphone.
  • accessaphone does not communicate directly with your phone system. Please see the diagram from the link above for more information.
